The same but different: a comparison between family volunteers, other formal volunteers and non-volunteers

Extensive research has examined how family status, composition and dynamics affect volunteering, but not members volunteer as a group. This note explores volunteering – two or more of together. Using diary data from the United Kingdom Time Use Survey, it examines some essential facts about extent patterns volunteers differ individuals who together with their non-volunteers. The results suggest that constitutes substantive proportion formal nearly half are adult partners. findings also indicate while shares predictors without one’s members, is sufficiently different phenomenon warrants further theoretical explanation empirical investigation.
